Do I need prior DJ experience?

No - it works for total beginners as well as bedroom DJs wanting to formalize their skills.

What equipment do I get hands-on time with?

Pioneer Nexus decks with Rekordbox, Serato, Traktor with S8 controllers, and even Technics 1200 vinyl decks.

How big are the classes?

Capped at five students per group.

Can I take it online?

Not as a group class - DJing is learned hands-on at the decks, so our DJ classes are taught in person. Online, we teach DJing one-to-one: ask admissions about private instruction.

How is this different from other DJ courses you offer?

It's genre-specific to popular electronic music, unlike the broader Underground DJ course.

What's the "split-level" part of the course about?

It's structured in two stages, building from the fundamentals up to performing your own DJ slot at a club night, assuming you make the grade - every student so far has.

Our inclusive 36-hour program is fully comprehensive, mastering industry-standard Pioneer Nexus equipment like a pro - on completion, you'll be ready to confidently step up to the decks at open-deck events across the city.

Seattle students take the Electronic Music DJ Class in a small group at our studio, with the same instructor throughout. The city has a deep electronic and independent music scene, and our teachers are part of it. DJing is learned hands-on at the decks, so our group DJ classes are in person only - online, we teach it one-to-one.

Perfect for both beginners and those who've dabbled at home, eager to master real-world techniques on the latest professional equipment. Taught by our superior roster of professional electronic music touring DJs, the course offers a truly personal experience, with a class size limited to just four students.
